Property search and house price data since 1995

Long-running UK property search portal with free agent listings, backed by three decades of house price data and market indices.

About Home.co.uk

Home.co.uk has been running since 1995, which makes it older than the portals that dominate UK property search today. It occupies a different position from them: rather than competing on listing volume alone, it leans on the house price data it has accumulated over three decades.

What It Does

  • Search: properties for sale and to rent, stated as 677,885+ and 90,021+ respectively
  • Market data: 30+ years of house price data, indices and trend analysis
  • Sold prices: historical transaction records and valuations
  • Agent comparison: comparing local agents on fees and track record
  • Directories: estate agents, letting agents and surveyors
  • HomeAI: a beta product (“Early access for qualifying agents”) aimed at making agents’ listings visible in AI search results, built on three claimed pillars — a “Context Injector” (JSON-LD/schema.org structured data carrying price history, comparables, and yield data for LLMs to cite), an “Agent Graph” (verified track-record data as an AI ranking signal), and “Zero-Click Market Reports” (a per-agent API key for Custom GPTs to auto-generate market updates) — plus a proprietary “HomeAuth Score™” readiness metric
  • AI Visibility Checker: a free, no-signup lead-gen tool (home.co.uk/ai-visibility-checker/) that looks up an agent’s real branch from home.co.uk’s own listings database, then live-queries Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Grok in real time with a prompt like “Who are the best estate agents in [area]?” — showing exactly where the branch is and isn’t mentioned, before pitching HomeAI’s structured-data/domain-authority fix

Position

The free listing model is the sharpest contrast with the major portals, where listing fees are one of an agency’s largest fixed costs. Home.co.uk states no setup fees and no monthly charges for agents — which necessarily means less traffic than a paid portal commands, and makes it a supplementary channel rather than a replacement.

The data side is arguably the more durable asset. Its indices and sold-price records are cited well beyond its own search product, and the agent-comparison and surveyor directories extend it toward serving sellers choosing a supplier rather than buyers choosing a house. HomeAI is a notably recent turn: optimising listings for AI-mediated search rather than for a portal’s own ranking. Its core sales argument is that AI systems weigh domain authority when choosing which sources to cite, and that home.co.uk’s 30-year-old domain — per an Ahrefs comparison it cites directly against Rightmove and Zoopla — can lend that authority to an agent’s own listings in a way a young agency website cannot.
